California Trip: Day 3

Day 3 started off with Stephen and I walking together to his conference and then I had to say goodbye and find some breakfast! (Stephen's conference provided breakfast for him)

I ended up finding a bistro one block from our hotel that was so warm and inviting! It was old world decor and very peaceful!!!!

My delicious mocha

I thought the attempt at "mocha art" was a nice touch!!! Made me smile!

~My oh so delicious french toast with homemade cream (sweetened with honey) and strawberries~

I think this breakfast was one of the first times I have ever in my life eaten at a sit down restaurant by myself! It gave me a whole new insight into those who have lost their spouses and do this all the time. I can certainly say that while the food was delicious, it was one of the most boring, lonely experiences and it caused me to thank the Lord for the husband He has given me!

~Had to snap a smoochin' picture when we saw this cute heart on our way to lunch~
:)

Thankfully, Stephen was able to join me for lunch at the Burger Bar. It was decent food, but way too expensive. Nobody should ever have to pay $20 for a burger and fries!

Found this on our way down from the restaurant! :)

Our Hotel

In the afternoon I stopped by Britex fabric store and spent hours looking over their amazing fabric and notion selection! It was so fun to look at hand crafted lace and Italian silk!!! I just wish they would have allowed photography in the store! Oh well!

Out of the whole store, just about the only affordable item in my budget was 2 yds. of cotton! It is super soft and top notch quality!

I am not sure what I am going to do with the material yet.....but I have a few ideas floating around!

For dinner we ate at the Cheesecake Factory that had a rooftop terrace to eat out on! This was our view of the courtyard!

Getting ready to eat!

California Trip: Day 1 and 2

Here we go.........................

Here we are on our first leg of the trip, flying to Atlanta and listening to XM satellite radio together (hence the headphones)!

Here is my husband the next morning (after our whole overnight in Atlanta fiasco).

Of course nothing can really make my husband a grumpy man....this picture proves it! :)

A "tradition" picture (we try and take a "ring hand" picture every time we are traveling to a new place).

~The view out our window~

~Happy to be together~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After we finally arrived in San Fransisco we made our way to the hotel where we dropped our bags in the room and ran searching to find food!!!! :) :) We made our way to the hotel restaurant and it was truly lovely! Classical music, views of the Bay and Golden Gate bridge, and the food was delicious!!!!!
~My fresh Cobb salad~
~Stephen and his Angus hamburger and french fries~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After lunch, Stephen and I walked to his conference then I came back and freshened up and took pictures of our lovely hotel room (after 24 hrs. of no shower, no deodorant, no clean clothes.....well, you can just imagine what I looked and smelled like:)!!!!!!!!

~We thought the bathroom sink was so artsy we took a picture~

Our nightstand (the little button on the side of the bed was for the automatic curtain which I took a video of and will post later). It was the epitome of laziness but it sure was nice to not have to get out of bed to open the curtains every morning! ;)

~The dressing/make up area~

~And the big screen television~
Since they did not have any food network, we pretty much never watched any T.V.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a nice long shower and a nap, I ventured out a little!
I stopped by teuscher chocolates for a special treat
~Way too many to choose from~
~I picked up some Grand Marnier, Champagne, White Chocolate and dark chocolate truffles~
These were truly delectable! They were worth every penny!!!! The picture does not do them justice, but we were in too much of a hurry to try and take a cool picture!!!! :) :) :) :)
~For dinner we made a reservation at Fleur de lys restaurant just a few blocks away from our hotel~
Our 4 course dinner was impeccably served, delicious and relaxing!!!!!
We did not take a picture inside the restaurant, because it would have been tacky and we did not want to look like "tourists"! :)
Thus ends the first 2 days of our trip!
